SANDWICH, Mass. (March 4,
2005) – The 1st Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament, May
26 at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, is the first in a series of
charity events to be promoted by Tuohy Sports & Entertainment (TSE)
in 2005.

Network and Nextel present the 1st Celebrity Charity Golf
Tournament, benefiting The Jimmy Fund.
“We’re proud to be
working with DataLink/Nextel for such a worthy cause,” TSE
president Hank Tuohy said. “We’re raising money for The Jimmy
Fund to help the chances of survival for young cancer patients
around the world. Granite Links is one of the most pristine courses
in New England and ranked among the top 10 new golf courses in the
country. We’re lining up a lot of popular athletes and other
celebrities. Everybody’s going to have a lot of fun.”
Lunch will be served at 12
noon, followed by a Shotgun start at 1 p.m. After 18 holes an awards
dinner with prizes, an auction and raffles held to benefit The
Jimmy Fund.
“We want to be more
involved in the community and we’re all very excited about working
our first fundraiser like this,” Brian Banks of Nextel added.
“We’re proud to be raising money for a great cause like The
Jimmy Fund.”
The fee to play and attend
the awards dinner is $300.00, or $50.00 to attend the award
dinner/auction only. Cost to sponsor a hole is $150.00.
Included are Hole-in-One
prizes and a putting contests, as well as a spectacular silent
auction item for two to the The Legends Golf Resort in Myrtle Beach
in South Carolina (five nights accommodations in a one bedroom
villa, five rounds of golf on the best courses in Myrtle Beach, and
five days mid-size car rental with unlimited mileage).

to attend the tournament and/or awards dinner include Boston Bruins
Ken Hodge, Bob Sweeney, John “Pie” McKenzie, Bob Beers, Bronco
