SANDWICH, Mass. (October 24,
2005) – The Boston Frenzy of the American Basketball Association
are pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Sandwich MA
based Tuohy Sports & Entertainment (TSE).
TSE president
Hank Tuohy said regarding his Cape Cod-based sports marketing
company. “The relationships I’ve developed in sports over the
years has allowed us to grow exponentially. This partnership
strengthens our portfolio that features successfully marketed golf
and professional boxing shows among many other sporting and
entertainment events. Our message is to promote the positive
and for everybody participating in, or attending our promotions, to
enjoy a wonderful experience, as well as give back to communities by
promoting fundraisers. The Boston Frenzy have made a decision to
play their home games at local High School gyms this season.
The Frenzy share TSE’s “giving back” philosophy, High Schools
hosting Frenzy games this season, for example, will receive a share
of the gate receipts.”
The fan-friendly
ABA is the fastest growing professional sports league in the United
States with nearly 50 teams and another dozen clubs joining next
season. Each of the nine divisions is named in honor of stars from
the original ABA. The Frenzy is a member of the Roger Brown Division
along with the Harlem Strong Dogs, Montreal Matrix, Newark Express
and Strong Island Sound.
“Hank’s experience marketing sporting events and
his knowledge of local communities make this partnership so
attractive,” Boston Frenzy Vice President of business operations
Patrick Savage explained. “Our program was designed to give
talented local players exposure to other markets and possibly make
it to the next professional level. This year, playing games
throughout Cape Cod and southeastern Massachusetts will also benefit
local communities. My brother (Boston Frenzy General Manager Dan)
and I are from the Cape (Bourne) and the schools in this area have
been the most receptive to our program, by far. There is a
buzz about our team on Cape Cod and Southeastern MA and everybody is
excited about our games being played at these different sites.
It’s an easy fundraiser for high school athletic programs and
people who go to our games are going to see fast paced, exciting
basketball and have a great time while supporting their own
community”
The Frenzy’s
first home series of the 2005-2006 ABA season is Friday, November
25th vs. The Montreal Matrix at Barnstable High School and Saturday,
November 26th vs. The Harlem Strongdogs at Sandwich High School.
