SANDWICH,
Mass. - Old Colony Sports, founded in 1995 as a sports event marketing
company based in Sandwich (MA), has changed its name to Tuohy Sports &
Entertainment (TSE) and expanded its market from New England to across the
United States.
The
company's philosophy continues to specialize in delivering cross marketing
in order to maximize promotional results for local, regional and national
sporting events.
"We've
increased our visibility in sports like golf, boxing, kick boxing, mixed
martial arts and soccer through our cross-marketing philosophy for
corporate events," TSE founder Hank Tuohy explained. "Our
business has evolved to a national scope with plans for at least 20
celebrity golf fundraisers and at least three professional boxing shows in
2004. The friendships and associations I've developed over the years in
professional baseball, football, hockey, basketball and boxing has allowed
us to grow into a national leader in sports marketing. Our celebrity golf
tournament promotions have helped raised hundreds of thousands of dollars
for many charities.
"I've
gone back to my roots, so to speak, in soccer. I was the director of
marketing for the Tampa Bay Sun Bowl and the Tampa Bay Rowdies for several
years. I also worked with the MLS to bring professional soccer to Tampa
Bay. Our newest client is the New England Soccer School in Amesbury. We're
going to do what we do best: Raise awareness of events and promotions
through sponsorships and advertisements to generate foot traffic. I'm very
excited to be working in soccer again. I'm proud to be associated with the
New England Soccer School and its owner, Ted Dipple. It's going to be fun
watching kids learn how to play first-rate soccer there. This a great
opportunity."
Old
Colony Sports was, in reality, Hank Tuohy and the change in his company's
name coincided with its expansion. "Friends have been advising me to
use my name because I'm well known thanks to exposure from our successful
promotions," Hank noted. "This was the perfect time for that
change. Our company message is the same and that's always to promote the
positive. We want everybody participating in or attending our promotions
to leave talking about what a wonderful experience they had."
"Hank
has a lot of good contacts and experience," Dipple remarked.
"He's a do-er as opposed to a say-er. Hank also has a high level of
energy that's needed in this business. We're banking on him and his
company to help market the New England Soccer School."
Tuohy
plans to combine his love of golf and professional boxing in resort areas
like Myrtle Beach (SC) and Cape Cod (Hyannis, MA) next year. "We're
going to continue promoting our 'Battle Zone' boxing series and add
celebrity golf fundraisers the day before the boxing shows. We've
scheduled the first in March at Myrtle Beach, July 9 at the Cape Cod
Melody Tent in Hyannis, and hopefully in October at a Boston venue.'
